The workshop is with award winning filmmaker and director David Rountree. David is set to direct the $6.1 million dollar thriller Descention in the summer of 2017 and has begun his acting workshop in the meantime to work with actors. Some of the studio sessions are used to showcase parts of the actual script. The classes are kept to a small number to ensure everyone has extensive on camera acting time. This is an on camera, on set experience and is exciting, fun and incredibly beneficial. Every class is filmed and you are acting in fully filmed and professionally directed scenes with multiple moving cameras. Week 1: Is treated exactly like an audition. You show up and sign in and he calls you in one by one with a reader and you audition for the part. You are emailed sides for the audition a day in advance and can pick from different genres. The rest of the session is acting exercises with David. Week 2: You are given a scene a few days ahead of time with the character you auditioned for and will be performing scenes in the 2nd session on camera directed by David. You will be given adjustments and perform a 2nd take. An industry professional will be on hand as well to watch all actors perform. You can bring a Headshot and resume and exchange information. Week 3: You will perform the same scene and or additional scenes in the same film and same character using the choices you have made and worked on from the week before. Everything is filmed and available after class. David will be working with you one on one and helping you to make the strongest possible choices. He will focus on technical aspects as well as acting in front of the camera. He will also emphasize physical movements that fill up the screen. Week 4: You will perform your scene exactly as if you arrived on a feature film set. It will be professionally directed and filmed. You will have close ups and a master shot. Week 3 and 4 are run with multiple moving cameras and both cameras are fed into two large overhead television screens. Actors can watch the other actors perform from both angles on screen while they are performing live. This gives incredible insight. The scenes are professionally lit and directed by David. You will have opportunities for multiple takes during the full scenes as well. You will learn more technical aspects of acting and how to create and make the strongest possible choices in front of the camera. This is truly a very special acting class that will help you grow tremendously as an actor. The goal of the workshop is to experience an a film from audition, rehearsing, all the way to fully filmed scene as if on set.You will be working with a professional director and meet and network with industry professionals along the way. (Casting directors, agents, self marketing expert for actors, etc.). You can choose either 4 consecutive Thursdays or Mondays 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
