Video news ALIGHT! Fly at the Camera! ST PATRICKS NS, Ringsend

As part of The National Neighbourhood : Alight! children from St. Patrick's National School, Ringsend visit Sandymount beach to practice their moves and make a film. Throughout January and February ALIGHT! artists Muirne Bloomer, Vanessa Daws and Hugh Brown have been working with the children to explore themes of journeys - both of the imagination and the real. This film will be screened for the children on the 27th February in their school. ALIGHT! is part of Dublin's Culture Connects: The National Neighbourhood and is open to communities in Irishtown, Ringsend, Sandymount and Pearse Street. Directed by choreographer Muirne Bloomer and visual artist Vanessa Daws, ALIGHT! is led by BROADREACH, the participation and engagement initiative of of CoisCéim Dance Theatre, and coordinated by Dublin City Council.
ALIGHT! includes a programme of events, as well as a series of visits for local groups to the National Gallery and Dublin City Gallery the Hugh Lane, a creative dance/design project with children at St Patrick’s Primary School, and taster art/drama workshops with community groups from Riccy’s Youth Café, St Andrews Resource Centre, Pembroke Library and The Lir Academy.
